January 31

A couple of months ago my mixer went on the fritz. I turned it on and it would only go one speed, the fastest. This has made making things in it a bit of a challenge, especially our Christmas cookies. I had to cover it in a kitchen towel each time I used it so whatever I was mixing wouldn't fly all over the kitchen. Well I got home from work today to find this new one on the kitchen counter. Dad and Cameron went to Costco today and picked me up a new one. Pretty nice right???

January 30

Here is Cameron's new Toy Story bed set. This a a big big step for me, because this is truly a little boy bed now. We got this because we thought it might make Cameron want to stay in his bed at night instead of falling asleep on the floor. We'll see...

January 29

Well tonight is the first SCPA show of the season, so once I put Cameron to bed this very well may be what I do every Saturday night from now until the middle of April. I really love having my new TV in there!

January 28

Pizza Night! We usually have pizza once every two weeks, because that's how often we go to Costco, and we get one every time to have in the freezer. 99% of the time we choose to consume our pizza on a Friday night, because who wants to cook dinner on a Friday right? The Costco "take & bake" is by far my favorite pizza (besides BJ's), I seriously prefer it to any delivery option, plus it's cheap. So deeelicious!

January 26

Today was my day off and along with my normal day off errands I took Cameron to get a haircut. I was planning to take a picture of him during his haircut but my hands were full holding him down while he screamed the whole time! Eesh. So here are a series of cute coloring pictures.

He concentrates so hard when he colors. I of course had to get one with his tongue sticking out, Caleb thinks he gets that from me.

Standing back, obviously pleased with his work.

Starting a new page. This also showcases the haircut.

January 25

Cousin night again! Here are the two little kiddies laying down on the floor being silly.

January 24

Look at this boys unruly hair! Cameron was just running around being rambunctious tonight. It became very apparent to me that he was in desperate need of a haircut, so that will be happening on my day off later this week.

January 23

As kind of a follow up to my sister's post from January 11th, here is Cameron playing angry birds on his Grampy's iPad. He often asks to play angry birds when he sees either Grampy's iPad or our cell phones. While strapping him into his car seat last night after dinner he said, (in his super cute I'm so sweet how could you say no voice) "Mommy, plaaaaay angry birds?" I said, "Not right now" To which he replied, "plaaaaay happy birds?". That's the first time he has ever said that, I guess he knows angry and happy are related somehow. He's so smart.

January 22

Well it seams Cameron is no longer satisfied with just having a microphone when Caleb & I play rock band. He always wants to play Daddy's drum set, so Caleb got him his own set of sticks and a drum pad. When Caleb handed it to Cameron, he picked it up and said "Ohhh, it's so beautiful Daddy". I really don't know where he comes up with this stuff. Here he is very happy to play his drum pad.

January 21

I finally picked up some hot chocolate for my new Keurig. I made some after Cameron went to bed tonight and it is very delicious. Isn't that also a cute new mug?? I got it for Christmas from Debbie & Jim, it's just my style!

January 20

Here is once of Cameron's pictures from today. Cameron asked to draw letters, so Mommy helped him write his name. Then Cameron asked to draw numbers, he had some help with those as well, but he was dictating what number to write next. Then once those were on the paper he got to coloring. I am so very happy with his little art center, he has absolutely loved it so far.

January 19

This is Cameron's cute little potty chair. On Sunday night, the 16th, I sat him on it right after his bath, because lately he has been peeing shortly after his baths are over. Well for the first time he did pee a little in the potty chair, but it was just a tiny bit and he seemed pretty surprised by it. So tonight, again after his bath he sat on his potty. He sat there for a little while and read his Elmo book (stage left). Then he peed again, a lot more this time, and for some reason it just seemed more intentional. It was also enough this time to make his potty sing to him, which made him so excited!

Today was taco Tuesday at the Rothe household. Here's uncle Caleb getting some kisses from London.

January 17

This is Cameron's new art desk that he got for Christmas from Mam Maw. We put it together today while he was taking his nap and this is him coloring with his Color Wonder markers after he woke up. He sat on his little stool and colored for three hours straight until it was time to eat dinner. I guess he likes it!

January 16

Today was a Disneyland day. Last time we came Cameron really really wanted to ride on Dumbo but the line was just too long, so this time that is the first place we went. We got there at about 9:30 and he was so excited to "fly on Dumbo". Here we are waiting in line. It was a beautiful day and it wasn't too crowded.

January 15

Oh boy, one of the best nights of the year! Time for Dad's birthday dinner at Lawry's. It just doesn't get any better than this, I mean really. This is the first time I let Cameron go with us, as the last couple years I thought he was too little and too volatile. It's not the kind of restaurant for screaming babies that's for sure. He did great and was very well behaved the entire meal, but he wasn't interested in any of the food. Instead he ate approximately 30 pounds of blueberries and 2 string cheeses that we brought just in case. That paired with tastings from everyone's desserts it was quite possibly one of the worst dinners he has ever eaten.

January 14

Cameron walking around in his Daddy's gigantic shoes.

January 13

I was introduced to a new wine on New Year's Eve by a friend of ours. It's a sweet red wine with a little bit of fizz, and it is sooo tasty. I like it so much, Caleb took me to BevMo to buy a bottle for home. He wanted me to have some wine to enjoy while taking a bath and watching my new bath tub TV that he got me for Christmas. I decided to also get a bottle of their white wine featured here, it is also a little sweet and a little bubbly and very good.

January 12

Time for some family rock band. We gave Cameron the microphone and he danced and pretended to sing to every song. This seemed to make up for the fact that he couldn't play Daddy's drum set, or touch the buttons on Mommy's guitar.

January 11

Every Tuesday is cousin day at the Rothe's. Shenan and London come over after work for dinner so the cousins can have some play time together. I really love that we are able to do this together, and it has definitely become one of my favorite nights of the week. Here is London cutie pie being so smiley.

How could I not post this adorable close up???

January 10

Here we are on our way to NanaGrampy's house for the day. Cameron hates it when the sun is in his eyes, and in the mornings it is always especially bad. Caleb and I keep a pair of sunglasses in both of our cars, and it really seems to help him.

January 9

As you may have noticed, I am having a hard time sticking to just one picture a day. Today was Dad and Uncle Tommy's birthday party. Much to Cameron's enjoyment there were chips and salsa, which he loves, thanks to his Daddy. Don't even try giving this boy a chip if there isn't any salsa around. Here he is with Madalyn enjoying our appetizer.

January 8

Today is Saturday and normally we go out to eat with my parents on Saturday nights. Tonight we are staying in, because the Colts are playing in the playoffs and Dad wants to be able to watch the game. Mom made some deeelicious steaks for dinner, meanwhile Cameron plays with Grampy's iPad. He knows how to get to Grampy's photo gallery and here he is looking at our pictures from Christmas morning. He knows how to navigate to all of this all on his own, he also likes to play Angry Birds and frequently refers to it as Cameron's iPad. The picture below shows his little side swipe motion as he scans from one picture to the next.

January 7

Happy Birthday Dad! I had intended to take some kind of picture of the birthday boy, but somehow it didn't work out. Here is Cameron once we got home and I put his to bed. No, he's not sleeping. This is what he does every night when we put him to bed. We lay him down, and he rolls right over onto his belly, closes his eyes and opens his mouth to do this loud fake sleep breathing thing he learned somehow. He then pretends to be asleep until we leave his room, at which time he gets out of bed and lays down on the floor against his door, where he ultimately falls asleep. Every Single Night. Then when Caleb and I go to bed we push him with the door so we can squeeze in his room and pick him up to put him in his bed. I just can't knowingly let him sleep on the floor all night, and I sure can't wait until he grows out of this phase.

January 6

Tomorrow is my dad's birthday, so that means it's time to make Inspiration Cake! Here is the final product, ready to go into the fridge to chill overnight. Also, since I hid the frosting from my dad in the fridge, which I made yesterday, and I made the cake after work today he has no idea that I made it yet.

January 5

I really really wanted a compact chest freezer for the garage because things in our existing freezer have become pretty tight. I was so very excited that I got this for Christmas from Mam Maw, Uncle John & Cindy, and today it got delivered. Dad waited at the house for most of the day and by the time I got home, he had unpacked it, plugged it in and broken down all the packaging. I can't tell you how nice that was, especially since Caleb wasn't home to help with it. It is 5.5 cubic feet, and energy efficient. Perhaps sometime in the near future I will take a photo of the inside once I have more in it.

January 4

Cameron loves to come downstairs in the morning and get in a couple episodes of Handy Manny and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse while Caleb and I are getting ready for work. Here he is in his new "Cameron" beanbag clutching his new favorite stuffed friend sooo tight.

January 3

Well, Caleb is out of town in San Antonio this week so Cameron and I are watching Jeopardy on our own this week. Well what a way to start off the week because today's answer to final jeopardy was......... Sting!!!!!! Needless to say I was so very excited, I just had to get photographic evidence.

January 2

Here is Cameron is his Buzz pj's and his cute Mickey slippers that Santa brought him in his stocking for Christmas. He really likes playing with his new Sit and Spin, from Auntie Shen, Uncle Chris & London, here he took a break from spinning to read a book.

January 1

So it's day one of my project 365. I have to admit the idea of remembering to take a picture every single day of the year feels rather daunting, but I can't wait to try!

Today Caleb and I cleaned out our closet and dressers. We seem to always do this after Christmas, out with the old and in with the new I suppose. It is nice to start the new year with a nice clean closet, we'll see how long this lasts. We filled up 3 trash bags full of clothes to donate. Time to go shopping! (hmmm)
